DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER: Tanya Stafford oversees Robbins Bros.' Dallas venue as general manager. The company will open a new Arlington store early next year.

Robbins Bros., specializing in engagement rings like the colossal ones dangling from its unmistakable building off the Dallas North Tollway, plans to open a second area location, this time in Arlington.

The new 7,500-square-foot store will welcome customers in the first quarter of 2008 in Arlington Highlands Center at Interstate 20 and Matlock Road, and will employ about 30. Store officials cited the company's privately held status when declining to comment on how much money it's spending to open in the freestanding building.

The company offers more than 3,000 different styles of engagement rings and considers itself to be the only store to focus exclusively on the question-popping jewelry. It entered the Dallas market in November 2006 with a 10,000-square-foot shop at Dallas Parkway and Spring Valley Road.

Tanya Stafford, general manager of the Dallas store, declined to reveal specifics about profitability, but said her store has exceeded its original sales projections by more than 40%.
